PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS
The new Workday provides an easy link straight from your homepage.
From the Homepage or Menu:
1. Select My Team Management.
2. Select Transfer, Promote or Change Job from the Actions box.
3. Select the worker on your team and click OK.
4. Click on the Edit button then select the effective date and reason for the change, then edit any other applicable information.
5. Once complete, click on Start to begin the process.
6. From the Position screen, fill in all applicable sections.
Note: Only move the worker into a new or existing position if you are planning to backfill the old position. If you only want to change the job information for the worker and are not planning to backfill the position, only change the worker profile and leave the worker in their current position.
7. Click Next to move through the sections of the job change.
Note: The Organizations details will automatically fill in based on allowed default values set up for your team by Finance. These can be changed on a worker-by-worker basis, but selections will be limited.
8. Before submitting, use the Summary page to double check that all information has been entered correctly. If there is a section that needs to be corrected, click on the pencil icon in the corner of that section. Click the checkmark when finished.
9. Click Submit when finished. The job change will route to your manager for approval, once approved, the People team will complete the process.
TERMINATIONS
From the Homepage or Menu:
1. Select My Team Management.
2. Select Terminate from the Actions box.
3. Select the employee and click OK.
4. Enter the primary termination reason.
5. Enter the termination date.
Note: It is important that you enter the termination with the correct termination date as soon as you are aware the termination event is happening. Delaying the entry of a termination can result in overpayment and can prevent network access from being shut off which will cause an IT security risk.
6. If you are planning to backfill the terminated worker’s position, do not close the position in the Position Details section.
7. Once all data is entered, click Submit. The termination will be routed to the People team for approval and processing.
